why can you not just give me my overall uni grade!!? this is so frustrating. I have the grades for reach of my modules but last year´s grades factor in somehow so i don´t know how to figure out what i got for my degree. Arrrgh!! i´m going to end up waiting until mid july (like my tutors told us we would so…why are my grades already online..so irritated)
Every so often, the sensation-driven lame-stream media likes to pick on a particular dog breed as being unforgivingly vicious. For a while it was German shepherds and then it was rottweilers and for the past 20 years, it’s been pit bulls.
honestly, small dogs are the only dogs ive ever known to be mean without reason. mostly chihuahuas and poms… awful terrible dogs. some of the sweetest dogs ive known irl were german shepards, pits and rottys. They are just really strong.. but they are so loyal and loving! Ive never met a loyal or loving chihuahua :l
i’ve been reading about the pitt bull issue for a while since finding out that in the UK if you are found with a pitt bull it is taken from you and destroyed.
It seems there was a spate of attacks from pitt bull type terriers and so the Dangerous Dog Act was put in place. Pitt bulls were bred to be aggressive towards bulls for “bull baiting”, but were always trained to be maintain their status as a family pet. Bull baiting was outlawed in 1835 and people turned towards using them for illegal dog fighting, you can see how this would mean more aggressive pitt bulls were around.
The veterinary director of the Dogs Trust has come forward as saying “the problem is not with the breed.” People breed the aggresion into them, the dog itself is not inherently aggressive. I may be bias as i have been brought up around dogs of every kind (including my grandmother’s enourmous Rottweiller) but i really do not think pitt bulls should be euthanased, i think it’s an awful shame that people are breeding problems into them when they are such fantastic little things.
I caught the tube to the office. I used to like taking the tube, it made me feel like a Londoner. London is a world-class city and I liked to think that something of its status rubbed off on its citizens. Also, by catching the tube I was chipping in, doing my bit for the city. Without people like me, underground travellers, London would not work. If the subsoil did not seethe with trains, did not suck in and circulate a huge population of its own, the superficial metropolis - the landmarks, double-decker buses, skyscrapers and fountain-filled squares - would grind to a halt. London's heart is under its earth, and some days catching that Northern Line made me feel essential, like blood.
“Closing your eyes isn’t going to change anything. Nothing’s going to disappear just because you can’t see what’s going on. In fact, things will even be worse the next time you open your eyes. That’s the kind of world we live in. Keep your eyes wide open. Only a coward closes his eyes. Closing your eyes and plugging up your ears won’t make time stand still.”—Kafka on the Shore (via kuragehime)
Even though our lives are perpetually coming to an end because they decided to end USoT, we can over come it.

Today it’s off to Pompey to be with the boyf and his family then we’re going camping ( i reckon i got asked to go too to help with Rob’s little brothers but that’s cool). I’m actually looking forward to sketching instead of doing finished work, but i’m annoyed i haven’t had a chance to buy film.
